Beautiful Mahogany Sohmer King Louis Style XV Baby Grand Piano. Never played. Used as a furniture piece. Piano looks like it has been in a time capsule. Perfect condition, excellent furniture, excellent mechanical condition. Pretty mahogany, very warm, sublime Sohmer tone.
Sohmer and Steinway were friends as the Sohmer factory was right down the street from the Steinway factory in Astoria, NY. Legend has it, they frequently shared manufacturing secrets. Thus, Sohmer pianos sound very much like Steinways and received the nickname "poor man's Steinway" because the price was much lower, even though the quality was comparable.
